Studio Rehearsal – The Ryan Taylor Band
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love live music. I even met my boyfriend at a music festival I went to… alone. Yup, you read right. That’s how much I love live music. I’ll brave the crowds by my lonesome just to get my dance on. But nothing is like the intimacy of live music at a small venue. And does it get any smaller and more personal than seeing a band create music live at a studio? I don’t think so!
I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph the Ryan Taylor Band during one of their studio rehearsals for so many reasons. I’ve known Ryan, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, since I was a little kid and growing up I fell in love with his beautiful voice, watching him perform in his family’s living room as we cheered him on over bags of Hot Cheetos. Since then, I’ve seen Ryan perform on stages all over the world, from the relaxing islands of the Caribbean to the just off the cobblestone streets of the Mediterranean. He is a talented artist and guaranteed to give you a good laugh while he’s at it.
It’s so exciting to watch someone’s dreams develop into reality and I feel so lucky to be able to capture this part of his story as he moves from solo artist to rock band vocalist. If you’re local to Los Angeles, you can check out Ryan Taylor and his band’s performances regularly at the Federal Bar, or follow him on Facebook for more info.
I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at their Los Angeles studio rehearsal experience and follow along for their journey as they navigate the LA music scene.
